University of Georgia berry varieties

The University of Georgia range of southern highbush varieties range from very low chill evergreen types that are suitable for warm temperate climates to mid-chill selections that can be grown in regions that have cool winters without frost. These varieties have outstanding flavour profiles and are known for excellent eating quality, firmness and a long shelf life. They are already being planted in areas such as the USA, Mexico, Peru and Spain and give excellent production of early ripening fruit. Harvest in South Africa is aimed at August to November depending on the region and climate. Topfruit has the right to licence these varieties to growers of most sub equator countries in Africa.
